    I waited all morning
before the nothing freaked me out
as silent distances felt for a hand in the mist
Of long-lost truths which couldn't reach or shout
As her eyes sunk low beneath the sky
Bodies waving their hands held up high into the air
I could not write for them anymore
They did not love me. They did not care.
I have had so many dreams, they became deferred
Dried up like raisins in the hot sticky summer heat
The sun, cradled in crimson, the fire from the light
There is nothing right, so I write...and it's not for love anymore
It's not so your eyes can read or ignore
Because I am tired of being someone- on this busy street
I forget how alone that I am. They pretend it's real
But it never was. I am as alone I ever have been
Hello, then a goodbye, before we could really even begin.

    it's bad I know...

I quite enjoyed it. Wish you had written it sooner! :) I was looking for a goodbye poem to a friend a few days ago and couldn't think of anything but you said it very well. Thanx
