I have been cutting for over 6 years.

I want you to know that stopping can be done. You need to focus on other things. Cutting, though it causes pain, releases pain in it's own way. The trick might be for you to find something else to focus the pain on. Try breathing, or writing it out.

If you just need to release it, one helpful tip I was given was to take a notebook and a pen and shred a page with your pen. Take the same idea of cutting but translate it on paper.

If talking it out will help, I'll always be around. Don't ever forget that.

Take care. PM or IM me anytime!!

I don't know if I'm the best person to take advice of (I still do it myself) but what used to help me is similar to riz's method.

I used to wrap tissue paper, bandages, anything like that, round my arm before I cut it.It felt so much like cutting, but it wasn't I kept me from doing it for over a year.
