Welcome to SF. I think there are others here with same disorder. Hope you find this site helpful. There are a lot of intelligent and caring people here. I have just read up on this via "Wikipedia" and there is a bounty of information. This is a very complicated issue with varying degrees of definitions by medical associations as well as diagnosis, prognosis, treatment etc...If you don't mind sharing, I'd be interested in which of the several symptoms you are experiencing and if you have reached an agreement as to the type of treatment you will receive. It appears to be very rare, according to the statistics I have just seen, outside of the United States and Turkey, which is very confusing to me, as the cultures are so varied.

Shades, i suffer in every way possible, i am lucky enough to have a therapist who is a specialist in that area and sees me 2 times a week. I was sexually abused as a child by many people and have spent most of my life trying to block out that it has happened.

claire thank you so much for your kind welcome.

Jehuty, your reply has touched me, it means alot to know i can ask for help.

    What a lovely forum

Understood! I'm glad you have a therapist like that and I'm so sorry as to the cause and the symptoms you are suffering from. I hope that with the therapy and the contacts you make here, you can achieve a high-level ability to cope as best as humanly possible.
