Reflecting bottles leave my features shattered
We crack before the force of our own stares
The emptiness weaves sullen colored banners
Battered by a storm that splits the shared

    Arguments riot in the eardrums
Both past and present crash in conscious drive
Wheels kept steady swerve without a reason
While bodies slam on every side

Invited lovers' tongues intrude as serpents
Consuming every word conceived by thought
Loving seats erupt in flames of rage spent
The fireworks of a dream have dimmed and gone

A highway to the streets reveals the distance
Rooftop rows divide the coming years
No signs of open arms, familiar faces
My searching eyes are blurred by morning beers

Seriously, this is amazing; the structure, the concept, everything. Brilliant emotion.

I love the fourth stanza, particularly the very last line.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. A lot of people I show it to don't know what to say about it!
