So it seems as though different areas in the UK and different countries have very different things in which they hold you under MHA. I have had aprox 4od's and numerous cutting and was only in hospital under medical supervision. There was one evening when I was in back in Dec where I had to be escorted everywhere which was annoying. I have found though that the psychs just take your word for what you say. If you just say well I didnt mean it or it wont happen again they let you go. I have said that now a few times but I have been let go each time. Obviously I dont wanna stay so you just say you regret it what happened, not that you dont regret taking more so that you could put your self out the missery so I say that when in reality I am planning when to do it again. I have not even seen psych doc when I have been in a couple of times when Oding. Last Monday they took blood and then sent me home. Obvisouly in the area that i live in the NHS budget on Psychiatric care isn;t very much. Any way so after speaking to my counsellors this week I have been reffered to someone but dont think they will do any good.
Does anyone know what happens if police arrest you under MHA?

well here in Australia, they arrest ya, take ya up to emercancy for a psych evaluation, try t o convince the psych dr that your nuts even when ya tell em your fine n then dependin on what the psych says, the police might transprt ya to the big psych hospital or they might just put ya in the small psych ward or they'll let ya go... gotta love the handcuffs though

Its hard to get people admitted to the psych wards with out the police where i am, i tried to get my mum admitted once but cuz she had a criminal record they wouldnt go near her with out police n i didnt want to call the cops on her

    Check out http://www.mind.org.uk/Information/Legal/OGMHA.htm[/QUOTE]

Alot of insite went into this page. Thanks for the post it makes some valid points. I had an uncle who killed himself and some of us believed that he damned his soul to hell. At his funeral, our fill-in pastor preached about this topic and he said that he believed that his soul is saved because he gave his life over to Christ. I can't say what I believe in this matter... I never want to kill myself to find out. Think about it... if you do kill yourself believing that you will go to heaven... and your wrong, it's to late. What will be done will be done. We will never have a 3rd chance in life. Our second chance, I believe, is when we accept Christ.

I will continue to pray for all of you/us here and for the people that aren't posting here. The demon of depression is running like mad through this world.. and they are strong... to strong for us to bear alone. Just keep the faith and read Palms: 23:

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
