How do you beat complacency?

Hello, everyone. I often get into a habit of not pushing or challenging myself to the limit. Instead I am too accustomed to sitting back, kicking my feet up, and relaxing.
I hate myself when I settle for mediocrity when I could do a lot more and better job. I hate the feeling of "That's good enough work. Now just go relax and play" when I only gave average efforts, not maximal efforts.
I want to set a boundary. What is being complacent and not giving ur best efforts? What is overpressuring and overexerting urself? Where is the middle ground?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

For someone who feels complacent as you do, there is no boundary. As for overexerting yourself, the only time it gets bad and counterproductive is when you begin neglecting your spouse and family. Other than that, you don't have to set any boundary.
