Why do humans hurt so bad?
We are hard wired with emotions that are built to accent our instincts. Purely survival.
Why can't we find the answer?
The truthful answer, or what we want the answer to be? I've found our existence to be pretty darn pointless. The meaning of it is the same for a goldfish, or a zebra, or a bird. We survive to survive. We survive today, so that we or some form of our species can survive tomorrow. So we have instincts hard wired to help us do that but with a human (and maybe some other specific animals) we have a brain that is capable of higher levels of cognition. In combination with our (some would say barbaric) instinct, we have not only short term memory but long term memory as well, critical thinking etc.... I think its the truest definition of a conscious (or at least the truest we've ever seen). So as a result we have the conscious/higher cognitive ability to wonder why and how and thats just what we do. But i think on a sub-conscious level a simple "survive to survive" answer just isnt good enough so we create a "deeper" meaning through our work, love, passions etc. which in the bigger picture is so meaningless it is completely subjective and becomes everything we truly have. Does the answer stop there? Why are we here to survive to survive? Alien ant farm at its finest? Im obviously just rambling and im probably completely fucking wrong. Lets be honest. Your guess is as good as mine.
Why is life so confusing and painful?
It is what we make of it. If youre confused and hurt try not wondering and not feeling. Is life any fuller?
Why do others put us down?
Because on some barbaric instinct driven way, it makes us feel good. Survival of the fittest. In an age like now, in western society primarily, where you dont need to hunt or gather or throw a punch for a sexual mate what else can we do than throw words and taunts and insults to show we're still the alpha, we're still number 1, our genes are still worth preserving.
I'm beginning to head in the direction of the post above. Religion may not be right, or it may be dead on. No one truly knows. But questions answered through science can make one feel rather pessimistic, boring, sad, and just plain lost. It feels good to know the answers to your questions and be a part of that, even if youre wrong. Ignorance is bliss right? Whats so wrong with that?
Also something i think about with topics like this (im probabyl just ramblnig). But in my opinion (not really scientific ill be honest) the human brain is as smart as it will ever be, and as smart as it has ever been. But i liken it to a computer. Go out and buy the best computer money can buy today april 25th 2009. Now go back to the year 1750. Its useless. Why? No one knows how to use it. I think thats sort of our brain...If its true that we only use just barely 10 percent of our brain then theres a whole 90 percent more we dnot know how to use.
