I've never understood how people can allow this to happen. I've long since adopted the theory that we have to change ourselves to change the world, well because it was just look rather hopeless otherwise. No one seems to care that we're practically living in Orwell's 1984.

I have many opinions on this (...whatever...none of them are good ), but I'd like to know why this is NOT on the NEWS anywhere...what I mean actually, is EVERYWHERE - this does NOT only affect U.S. citizens...but ANYONE who is in contact with someone/someplace in the U.S. :blink:

I read through many of the comments on the link site as well...and the most memorable for me was about the soldiers fighting abroad - whatever their feelings - but standing for "freedom & democracy" (in their hearts)...and coming home...to THIS?!?!!!! :blink:

My friend came across it on a C-SPAN rerun or something and alerted me and I was like "WTF?!" but, for the most part, the public is surprisingly ignorant of this! And this is a big deal!

It seems the "Great Pains" will do whatever they can to save their own asses, even if it requires withholding things from the public as much as possible...the only reason this would be under lock is because the ones supporting know in their heart of hearts it's wrong and they'll be chastised for their stupidity (which, nowadays, they shamelessly capitalize upon with frequency!).

Of late, they want the public to tell them everything. They tell the public nothing.

Just two days before this was passed, similar legislation was passed here in Sweden, also in direct conflict with the constitution. Coincidence?

Only increasingly undemocratic Russia has gone farther than Sweden, in regards to these issues, in Europe. Who would have thought that this would happen to, for long, unusually democratic Sweden? Then again, since Sweden always has been very Americanised, I guess that the politicians find that everything that is considered in the US, also should be considered in Sweden. The opposition to the shitty, new government that passed it has said that they will remove this law, or rather, "adjust" it. Since those of the big opposition party are the ones who started preparing for this shit, one knows full well what that means. I'm moving to Finland. This country is going right down the drain. Soon a fascist party probably will get into the parliament, as well... all because people are fucking cowards and afraid of the supposed terrorists and the immigrants that they assume probably will be the terrorists. Fuck I hate people.

This stupid administration has been methodically taking the Constitution apart a piece at a time for just about 8 years now. And I've been telling people all along what was happening and few believed it. Oddly enough, many still don't. They will sit there and watch as legislation like this passes and then deny that it's of any significance whatsoever. They're either stupid or scared. I don't know. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's happening here. You take this and put it together with all the other stuff that's been done in recent years and the picture it paints is crystal clear. We're headed down a very frightening path. How quickly people forget.
