Ach bonnie lass, you’ll not hurt any more
Standing under the water of the waterfall,
Washes all the blood off, washes the shadow
Down to the pool we dove in as weans
And all your skin’s young again with no marks
At your throat where the Cori Cas wind cut into you
No more peeling on your cheeks where the salt of
    The Forth Jabbed you

And when we were down Troon Beach
Among the sand, way down all by the shingle
With you all made up in black like you saw your
Funeral coming in two years’ time and I didn’t
Ach, that night you had your head in your heart
And your heart in your head and your feet on the sand
Dancing in my hands a gothy pixie
With no wings cos the gale would pick you up
And fling you into the heavens pulling me with you

And under the drookit downpour we fell
Down on the sand, wet sand at my back, rain
In the howling gale like bleak thorns it was that cold
Thunder rising to a dull shriek whipping clumps of sand
Into our hair; mine a mess, yours falling always falling
Around your cheeks and we were spinning in dark skies
A hurricane of our own making

And I wonder sometimes if you knew you had the decline in you
And lived hard cos of it, saturating time with all the sensations
You could manage with everybody around you only being alive an instant
With our days and our worlds scurrying by, but we were still all colourful
    Amongst a pale blurry ghost
    Ah, you were that beautiful
    And none of it’s right
It’s all that pale and all that ugly
Ah Christ I miss you, lassie
    I miss you, lassie
    I miss you

This one held my attention VERY well...

    Thank you Moments.

I like how it is written in an older format but still reads as present day material...if that makes any sense...

    How the heck are you?

Been loving your posts of late. I pop in here for the most fleeting of moments.

    Miss it though.
