I recieve disabilty benifits because of my social phobia, housebound depression. I dont help my parents out. I am addicted to the internet and gaming. I have no friends and have never had a girlfriend. I even hate socialising online.

I often think to myself that people would benefit if I just disapeared but I dont think I can go through with suicide. I feel like a prisoner in my own home (or should I say my parents home).

I used to be an active person in my younger years but now I am just a lay about waste of space. Why am I even typing this message?

You are not useless, you are frightened...this is very different...is there anything else you can do online, like take a course, which you can feel more satisfaction spending time on? Just a thought...big hugs, J

Hi yeah I guess there is more I can do online. Like learn something. I have a really short attention span which is why I usually avoid the online courses. I hated school with a passion.

If you look into the star filled sky at night it makes you, (me) realise just how insignificant we really are in the grand scheme of things.

Wow, that is very good insight Jackie.
    I agree.

You are worthy and useful, maybe you do not see in what way you are or can be, but no person on this Earth was born into the world useless.

    heheh
    good advice

they can definitely take your mind off things

it's amazing how much playing some grand theft auto can change my thinking.
other things that have helped me:
watching Scrubs (or any funny TV episode)
    smoking a cigarette

anything to ground you, bring you back to reality

Yes all the time and watch movies but its getting me nowhere in life. I am an extremely lazy person, I have no motivation or ambition.

that is a common symptom of depression. doesn't mean you are useless at all.

I can so relate...I am housebound too:sad: because of depression and anxiety. I spend my day usually helping out at home and on SF, that's all I do. If you wanna chat about it feel free to PM me
