This is a blues song that I wrote today in Music... from the point of veiw of a slave... this may trigger, but I still felt that I had to post this, because in a left handed way it is sort of how I feel as well... sort of... I originally wrote it as if it were me, but then I changed some bits... My teacher said that reading it made her hurt... that I did such a good job... pity she didn't know that that was half me as well... anyway, enough of me rambling.

Look at the eagle soaring high, flying higher than the sky.
Look at the eagle soaring high, flying higher than the sky.
I dream of the happiness, from good times gone by.

I see the eagle soaring free, how I wish that that was me.
I see the eagle soaring free, how I wish that that was me.
But out in the cotton fields, instead I must dream.

I dream of my children, and hope they are happy.
I dream of my children, and hope they are happy.
Instead they are sold, because my master is mad at me.

They are woken from their dreams, by the lashing of the whip.
They are woken from their dreams, by the lashing of the whip.
From the wounds on their backs, their blood does drip.
