I lied to a friend of mine

So a friend of mine wanted me to go with him, his wife and his brother in law and wife to a theme park.


I told him I couldnt go because I dont have the money.

However thats only a little bit of the truth. Real number one reason why I wont go is because Im sick of being a 3rd or 5th wheel with couples. I dont want to be in place like a theme park where couples are holding hands while Im walking around by myself.


I feel out of place.

That's fully understandable.

I am the only single one in my group of friends and I bloody hate it, they constantly invite me out and I am always saying no because we'll go to a club or a bar and they'll all be drunk and sucking face, forgetting I am even there.

I can't tell them how I feel because they just don't get it, or they'll try and start to set me up or fend me off onto random guys just so they don't have to feel guilty that I am alone.
Have you thought about trying to meet a new mate online - male or female - so that you have a comrade/buddy/person with you to have a laugh with and aren't 5th wheel anymore?
