I Still Have Your Teddy Bear.

I still have your teddy bear,
With the ribbon down his chest,
And I still have your Sunday shoes,
    With your little Sunday dress.

Does Jupiter still shine for you,
Like the last time you were here?
I bet your eyes still sparkle when you smile,
I feel it when you’re near.

Cats in cradles, knees and toes,
    Big red cars, and then,
Just as fast as you were here,
    He took you home again.

The time was not enough, I said,
    You can’t take her away,
But it seems that He had other plans,
You had somewhere else to play.

Years go by without you now,
    But mommy loves you so,
I miss you more and more each day,
More than you will ever know.

But I still have your teddy bear,
With the ribbon down his chest,
And I still have your Sunday shoes,
    With your little Sunday dress.

Absolutely beautiful. Nothing is more heartwrenching than losing a child, but you manage to portray that sadness and yet still provide comfort. Thank you for sharing this with us.
