I think I may have something

I weigh 76 pounds. When I eat, I'll eat only a little. I mean, really a little. I'll eat three bites of a sandwich, and that's it. I'll say that I'm full, when I really mean that I've eaten enough to hold me over to my next meal. But I don't eat breakfast. I think I need to lose weight often, and have considered purging.

That sounds like an eating disorder, Tess. You should speak to your GP about how you're feeling and see what steps you can take to make yourself feel better.

If you're in the UK, you can speak anonymously to BEAT. (http://www.b-eat.co.uk/Home)

Hope it helps.

*sigh* Thanks. I'm just not sure if I /want/ to tell. I'm feeling this way because of my rape, which I haven't reported, nor told my parents. If I tell my GP, he has a duty to Report, and that goes back to my father's profession...

And I'm fifteen years old.

That is a difficult situation. But if you contact Beat, you can request a call back. I've spoken to people there myself, and they are fantastic. You don't need to give your full name, or location. They are very supportive, and have plenty of experience with helping people of all ages and walks of life.

If that feels too scary, maybe you could confide in a close friend, or family member. There is help out there - it's just a case of being really brave and reaching out to somebody.

Will they help me, even though I'm in the US?

By the way, I never elaborated about my dad...

He's a Senator.
