He took stock of his life

    meticulously sifting his thoughts.

    Did he have any longing?

    Was there an unsatisfied desire?

    Anything or anyone missing?

    Could something

    or someone be found

    to add to his contentment?

Perhaps there was a place to visit

    or something new to do?

    An enjoyment people rave about?

After much searching he did discover

    something he would thoroughly enjoy.

    To go back in time

    to his childhood

    then deal with a question

    he'd often been asked,

    but had no answer for.

''What do you want to be

    when you grow up?''

    To which he'd reply,

    ''I want to be me''.

Thank you for the kind words Petal, Fluffyp and TPL.

This particular piece expresses where I am now compared and in contrast to where I have been.
