I'm freaking out. A group of people and I went for a spirited drive in the mountains yesterday. The guy ahead of me violently crashed against the mountainside. His wife, the passenger, died in the crash. I had just met them that morning.

I was behind him. I saw the crash. She died. I am beyond an emotional wreck right now.

    mink,
I am very sorry to hear of what happened to you. If that happened to me, I would be super shaken up too. I have never had that event, but I have feared it before. Words escape me now, but there are many many others that can support you here on SF. please continue to post to not feel too alone. also, go to chat room if you need to vent more.
    stay safe,

    TLA

Thank you. I know there's nothing anyone can do to change things, but it all just seems so surreal. I saw it happen. I have seen that car disintegrate in my mind a hundred times since yesterday. My mind keeps replaying it over and over and over. I can't believe this. What about him? What can I do to help him?

Please tell me this isn't happening...

It is happening and you might need a sleep aid on Tylenol PM to help you be calm and rest. Try to see the sky or beach in your mind.
If the man lives close or had to go to a hospial, you might call him to see how he is, if he needs food or his lawn mowed, kids watched. He may not be able to comprehend, but his family would appreciate the gestures. you also may need to talk to your friends that were with you? did they react the same? how are they coping? will you have any post-tramatic stress cuz of this, take care of yourself too.

I have to go ZZZzzzzzzz now, send me a PM if you need or go to the chat room to find ppl. ...It is also good that you are so serious about witnessing this event. Maybe it was (excuse me if this offends) a warning sign for you to learn to be careful and appreciate life cuz you do not know when its over.
See the bigger pic. if you can in a few days. I wish you peace.
