    I would like to know.

    Why it is

that everyone is always saying "sorry"

"I am so sorry for your loss"

    "Aww, hunni, i'm sorry"

    and the ever popular,

    "I'm sorry"

    But why?

    Why are you sorry?

And why is no one doing anything?

I think that ppl r saying sorry hun because they dont know what to do, they r saying "sorry" that they dont know what to do or say to make it better. They r also sorry for ur loss and that they know how bad that u must be feeling.
Hope ur alright x need to vent?

But what can people do hun?

People say sorry because its all they have. They feel horrible for you and they want to make the pain go away, but they cant. Trust me, ive tried.

Maybe the question is what do YOU expect people to do?

Would you rather they say "Oh damn, if only i did this today, i might have been able to save them" or the people on SF that don't know you or the deceased in person "oh well...another bites the dust"

The only thing people can say in a situation like that is to apologise for the pain they are feeling and to let them know they have someone if need be.

Be greatful that you are getting a response, they could very easily ignore you and pretend nothing happened.
