Witty_Sarcasm Eccentric writer, general weirdo, heedless heathen

I lie in bed and feel the erratic beating of my heart
The pattering of that fickle organ that never ceases to be
Until the day I will be faced with my mortality
    Everyone has their turn
The wheel of fate keeps spinning and picks them off one by one
I can only wonder what you see beyond that fixed gaze
I wish we had kinder words toward each other before we parted ways
Yet time is cruel and keeps on traipsing forward
Whether you want it to or not
There is no need to fight it when it comes
The old and familiar begins to fade
You hear your loved ones call your name
But the sound begins to drift away
As you move forward into the arms of those who have came before
And start your new life as if you are reborn.
