I don't even like pop music. I think musically it little compositional merit and the lyrics are trite. But I totally bawl with no explanation and feel completely empty and depressed after I listen to it, and can't stop putting it on repeat.

What were you doing/feeling the very first time you ever heard it? Many times, these kinds of emotive attachments, particularly with music sources, have some unconscious association with where your mind was the first time you heard it.

I often feel that way after hearing a particular song (which I won't name to protect the reputation of the band), but only because I recall my first time hearing it, the song was playing at the same I was seeing something terribly depressing and morbid, and has scarred me for life. But I ain't a psychologist.

    Musical sorcery, perhaps? :pokeball:

Cheer up; don't listen to that happy-go-lucky shit. It's too happy, and upbeat enough to make anyone go mad.
