    Invitation to the Dance

    My eyes are closed
    the doors shut tight
    the windows sealed
    I cannot fight
    I can't be healed
    I've been invited to
    Death's slow dance

    Guardian angels
    have poached my hope
    removed it from
    within my scope
    and with that lye
    the angels make
    a scouring, soulless soap

    My life laid bare
I cannot win, I do not care
    there is no reason
    there is no chance
    but to accept
    Death's invitation
    to Death's slow dance

  4. Wow, Acy...!!

Besides that this is indeed so very beautifully written, it doesn't seem to me to be all about 'sadness' per se - but a bittersweetness (I happened to have been fond of 'bittersweetness' for as long back as I can remember). Considering that indeed we all move closer to the moment of death with each breath we take and exhale - there is still within that knowing, a singularly unique brand of peace in acknowledging it. At least...that's what came through to me in your words...

And I do hope and wish (and not with futility) that we all here could find such moments - no matter before, or when our time comes...

I love this... the way it reads so well and flows along almost seamlessly, the images it places in your mind... this is brilliant.
