After the suicide attempted you feel so guilty that your suicidal thoughts changed from once every three days to coming up with a new plan every day?

I think people often feel guilty after suicide attempts but this is a time to show yourself a little compassion. Your attempt was an indication of how much pain you were in, a symptom of the disease, depression. You're seeking treatment and have nothing to feel guilty about. It's true that depression has an impact on those around us, but right now your depression is so severe that you need to be gentle with yourself.

The other thing is, if you're actually coming up with a plan every day, it might be worth considering another round of hospitalization. Unfortunately, most hospital stays for depression are only for a few days and that is not long enough for any real impact.

I am sorry you feel this way. I know what that guilt feels like, it is horrid. I do hope you continue to post here and update us on how you are. Best of luck.
