What is your favorite way to eat potatoes?

French fries! But fry them in beef tallow, it‘s the difference between acceptable fries and exceptional ones.

I do have a weakness for chips and crisps. But I recently found my supermarket sells 2K bags of potatoes for £1.35 so I'm going through a baked potato stage at the moment.

@Angie your question made me think of Sam being watched by Gollum as the fish was cooking.

Sam : What we need is a few good taters.
Gollum : What's taters, precious? What's taters, eh?
Sam : Po-tay-toes! Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew... Lovely big golden chips with a nice piece of fried fish.
Sam : Even you couldn't say no to that.
Gollum : Oh yes we could. Spoilin' nice fish. Give it to us raw and w-r-r-riggling; you keep nasty chips.
Sam : You're hopeless.

I can't choose between pan-fried little red potatoes, and Stampot:

I usually use a potato cooker bag in the microwave to make "baked" (more like steamed) potatoes.

Fries are the tastiest, but not so good for your health.

Hard to beat some well-made mashed potatoes. The texture and seasoning have to be right, or they can be a slog to get through. And they definitely have to be made with real, whole potatoes, not an instant powder.
But potatoes are really good as whole, and I'd say I like most preparations.

Any type of pan fried in grease potatoes are my favorites like hash browns, home fries, potatoes o'brien are great especially when fried in bacon drippings. I do love French fries but I am another one tallow is a must and mashed potatoes are also a favorite, not only after cooking and with gravy but made into potato patties and fried.

Hey everyone and angie thank you for opening another great cafe!
lol I absolutely love potatoes! Almost in every way possible lol
I don’t eat fried food so no regular chips for me unfortunately but air fried or oven are definitely my go to options. Actually lately I’ve been looking at all those recipe shorts and been trying to make interesting versions!
anyway, thanks now I’m hungry lol

As some others have said, I love potatoes prepared pretty much any which way, but my faves are french fries, mashed and hash-browns.

I think of Gollum and Lord of the Rings when I hear the word “taters” too lol. Those are such great movies, I need to watch them again soon.

I like them best when cooked in a crock pot alongside carrots and corned beef.
Whipped potatoes and gravy is a close second

Fries drowning in gravy, i did this as a kid before I even know of poutine. I actually prefer soggy soft fries over crunchy/crispy ones.

i don't have a particular preference honestly. i eat them in anyway, shape or form. i try to stick to sweet potatoes more if i can. But i like them all.

Thanks for opening and the tag Angie & KM. I like them mashed or sometimes get a craving for tater tots. In college we used to order French fries with brown gravy, those were delish.

i love all potatoes but here are a few of my favorites

1. sliced fried potatoes, sliced thin but not to thin or they become potatoe chips lol

2. hashbrowns with onioins, must be golden brown

3. shredded hashbrowns

4. french fries, home made fresh
