  1. I hope I haven't posted this before. I just rediscovered it going through old emails/letters - and it suits my mood today. NO offense intended to those who are sensitive to such expression, but Jesus did indeed take on the human condition while here, adulation and love, as well as deep betrayal and excrutiating pain and suffering - so I offer...

After 7 years (that sacred number)
    within The Wilderness myself,
    I wonder…

Jesus lost his mind in those 40 days and nights.
all he had left was his Being, his Soul
    (and barely escaped with those).
Maybe when he came out of that place
    his resolve
    was not so much resolve,
but Acceptance – that Shit Happens
    (and dontcha know,
he would need more Acceptance yet…)

    Maybe, that’s what drives me crazier than all;
drains me more than anything ~
    Are the folks who say
    that God never gives you
    more than you can carry.
    Have *they* ever carried
    more than they knew,
    how to do,
    what with…
Do they know how the demon feeds,
    pursues, demands - relentlessly…

How dare they quote what they’ve not yet lived.
How *dare* they blithely assume to guide…

    Jesus knows.

When you’ve been to the darker-than-Dark
    (you will know)
When you’ve learned to assume nothing
    (you will know)

Maybe (sometimes ~ I’ve seen it), that’s exactly when
    Miraculous, Mystical (and oh-so-real) Grace
    arrives at the 11th hour
(but not until you’ve shut your eyes).
Yet maybe, sometimes (I’ve seen it too)
we simply come to accept being abysmally lost…
    (no sin)
    Jesus knows ~
    About hoping for Salvation.
Yet only when the price is paid…
A price not ours, not chosen.

    Did he *truly* chose?
    Only Jesus knows…

  3. I used to find reasons
I used to look, and never be disappointed.
    Jesus, anointed,
never said it was going to make sense immediately,
only that it was meant to be...
And that the Kingdom of God is within thee
That does not mean his pain was not real,
nor any less devastating than what I myself feel
One of us, like all true teachers
It takes a while to see,
    like a lost sheep,
    how far Truth really reaches
    and comfort is allowed,
    how life is truly hallowed,
    Yet harder the cost
