I would love to be up in the mountains in a cabin away from people, no one left to act normal for, that would be bliss, heaven. ❤

Hey all, happy Friday! Hope you've all got some great plans for your weekend coming up. *grouphug2
Thanks for opening the cafe and for tagging me @Champagne. *hug

Who's the most interesting person you've ever met?
Probably one of my old best friends, a guy called Joel. He was fascinating. He'd drink liters of cider at parties, and you wouldn't notice even the slightest change in him. He'd go to parties in full makeup, because why not. He introduced me to pastafarianism, and at one point told me that he was secretly a werewolf. I have a lot of stories like that from him. :D

What celebrity would you most like to switch lives with?
Honestly, I'm not sure I would want to switch lives with any celebrity. Fame comes with its own difficulties and stresses, so much so that many celebrities actually lead pretty emotionally challenging lives. Besides, if I ever was to become famous, I would want it to be on the back of my own successes, rather than yeeting someone out of their own life so I could pinch theirs. Fame would feel hollow to me if I hadn't earned it.

What is the most interesting place you've ever been to?
Hmm, probably Cyprus. It's a beautiful place to visit and explore, very peaceful, but the military presence there is also really strong, so it creates this bizarre duality of tone.

If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite?
Hmm, probably George Orwell, H.P. Lovecraft, and a leftist youtuber like Hbomberguy or Contrapoints. So we could sit and have a conversation about how the world has advanced since their times, and about modern intersectional feminism, and watch the look of relief on Orwell's face and the look of horror on Lovecraft's. :D

Good morning. It is my day off but got too many plans. The most important one is to be here at the house when the dryer repairman comes to look at my defunct dryer. If it is broke it is big $$ and delivery will take a week so I will go to the laundromat which I rarely have to go to but occasionally do. And I have laundry to do....

My Halloween plans is to escape trick or treating and go visit some friends. We get about 300+ kids for trick and treating during a normal Halloween and several towns around us have canceled trick or treating so guess the numbers will be higher. They even ignore the lights out and come banging at the door and ringing the doorbell and don't believe when I say I've run out. Now I have been rambling...

Who's the most interesting person you've ever met? Currently my friend Ann. She's divorced like me, likes to travel by herself all over the country, encourages me beyond my ability (and I succeed), has different views than me both political and in general about life and takes me places I never know about. She also meets interesting people and tells me about them.

What celebrity would you most like to switch lives with? don't know

What is the craziest bet you've ever made? sorry can't remember. not doing well with the q's

What is the most interesting place you've ever been to? so far the Everglades. Much different than any other place I've lived before. never lived there but visited.

If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite?
If they had to go to dinner together it would be the Dali Lama, the pope and my pastor. What conversations we would have!

Considering going out to raid the candy bowls people are going to leave out front of their door tomorrow. *stars

Other than that, just schoolwork. Waiting on my reimbursement check to come through (for tuition), but that could take another week or so.

And I'd definitely choose the cabin in the mountains.

Who's the most interesting person you've ever met?
Someone that I briefly worked with. Beautiful. I caught her beautifully crossing herself when she thought nobody was looking. I might work with her again, soon, if I'm a very lucky person. (crosses himself, lol)
What celebrity would you most like to switch lives with?
None. My stupid little life is very carefully constructed. Celebrities can kiss my beautiful ass.
What is the craziest bet you've ever made?
That someone would be insane enough to marry me. I won that bet.
What is the most interesting place you've ever been to?
El Alhambra. I don't usually believe in reincarnation, and I certainly don't now, but I've never felt more at home than I did than when I was there. It's where I would love to die and be buried, if I was very, very lucky.
If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite?
Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin.

Hi everyone *grouphug2

Wish you all a wonderful Friday. :)

I would love to be up in the mountains in a cabin away from people, no one left to act normal for, that would be bliss, heaven. ❤
Exactly the same. This is my dream today... I'd only add one or a few caring friends with me if I plan to stay there for a long time.

Who's the most interesting person you've ever met?
Everyone I meet is interesting. If someone isn't, dig deeper.

What celebrity would you most like to switch lives with?
I'm stealing @Optimistic Goatman 's answer to this. ;)

What is the craziest bet you've ever made?
I haven't done (m)any bets that I can remember. Surprisingly, in Truth or Dare, I'd always choose Truth cause it used to be very easy. Now I have too many secrets so perhaps I wouldn't anymore, lol.

What is the most interesting place you've ever been to?
Interesting? Anywhere in Italy (plus it's gorgeous). Warsaw is also fascinating, very modern cause all fairly recently destroyed, but there is a piece of history at every corner of every street. You just need a great guide.

If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite?
Any three people from SF, I'm sure it'd be absolutely lovely.

Thanks for opening and the tag @Champagne...

At the moment an early morning walk on the beach sounds just so perfect...

Your questions always make me think...so here goes...

Who's the most interesting person you've ever met?
I would have to say my previous boss, the director at the Mutter Museum....her perspectives on life, her international collection of toilet paper, the people I got to meet who visited the museum - Penn & Teller, a sword swallower, Oliver Sacks (neurologist), Frank Bender (forensic anthropologist) and watching her appearances on David Letterman have such fond memories of her to this day even though was over 30 years ago....

What celebrity would you most like to switch lives with?
To be honest I don't follow celebrities enough to answer this one besides from a sidewalk perspective of their lives...so at moment would have to say Bette Midler as she just seems to embody such self confidence and a genuine joy of life...

What is the craziest bet you've ever made?
Not sure if this counts as a bet...but as a kid I bet/encouraged a playmate to use a long stick to push a coke bottle into the middle of our street...and yes so a large Cadillac ran over it...blew a tire...and should I add that I grew up across the street from the local fire/police department so after being extricated from the shrubbery my parents had me apologize to the unfortunate victim as well as the entire staff of the police/fire station..

What is the most interesting place you've ever been to?
I really can't pick just one...Zermatt skiing in July, Chartres cathedral in Paris, driving the scenic route through northern California through the redwoods, the Vatican, Franz Josef glacier in New Zealand, the festival of lights and visiting a 500 year old potter's family in Sendai Japan, Monet's garden Giverny, Martha's Vineyard in January

If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite?
Rachel Carson (author of Silent Spring), Greta Thunberg, and Jane Goodall for informative, passionate and potential solutions for the multitude of environmental issues we are facing as a world...

Where did you go there? :)
I particularly suck at remembering my travels (so it totally might just be a memory issue), but I think I've only seen a bit of the Turkish side from far way, not sure I felt the military presence so much otherwise.

i wish i had been convinced of this 66 years ago.

View attachment 39847

legend has it that disney was kicked out of the college i went to for drawing too many mice. thus i don’t believe this. and courage does not necessarily change other people you might encounter who might hate you for what you’ve done - which is definitely not a part of any of my dreams. and disney may have just been talking about mice anyway.

View attachment 39845

ok, this is a good one to attach myself to.

how are you all doing this morning?

its a rainy day again and i did not sleep well so a bit drowsy. but i am not in the mood to feel bad and i like the music on the radio and just had a good breakfast so i think i’m doing well.

So with it well y'know being erm, 2020 this year, how do you plan to spend Halloween tomorrow? Online chats or IRL fun?

we have not gotten any candy. in our building the halloween festivities have been pretty much cancelled this 2020 year! i guess i’ll be spending some time here on SF and at home will most likely be just another day. but i’ll definitely be wishing for the good old days! and the good old future too!!!

Would you rather be here at a cabin in the mountains right now? or laying on the beach?

well, yes and yes! i want a nonmotorized vehicle to shuttle me back and forth between the two places.

Pop quiz ;)

Who's the most interesting person you've ever met?

well, they all hapen to be women.... but...

• some were interesting because i found them attractive.
• some struck me as positive role models.
• some had some very interesting thoughts at the time in the context of the situation when i met them.
• ...this does not mean to exclude men... but they all happened to be known scientists who dealt with areas of science that i find fascinating whom i may have met in spirit but never really met.
• or artists - painters, sculptors and the like or (and especially) musicians/composers,

yet not having met them kind of rules them out for this question. and of course these categories include women too.

but we are looking for the most interesting person here that i’ve met and i have trouble singling out one who i really met. and like i mentioned above, i have a couple women in mind but naming them would not help the answer.

What celebrity would you most like to switch lives with?
i can think of a couple for reasons that do not have much to do with their over all lives, with whom a switch would be pretty nice, but being based on such a limited knowledge of them i’d rather emulate than switch. their lives could be a mess. that could turn out to be a horror and i wouldn’t want that.

What is the craziest bet you've ever made?

i don’t think i ever made a crazy bet. in fact i try to avoid bets.

What is the most interesting place you've ever been to?

maybe... japan! kansas city! certain places right here in nyc!

If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite?

all three at the same dinner? that might be problematic! dead? hmm, could i invite them back if i forget to ask something or think of something else to talk about? and for the living, i do hope to invite them some time in the not to distant future. oh! one more question... does this mean dinner at my home or could we meet at a restaurant? or a zoom?

i’m wishing for guess what... for me and of course for everyone...

Monet's garden Giverny
OMG I never thought someone here would mention this. :D It's such a wonderful little place, I absolutely love it too, but so few people hear about it... I'd choose it a thousand times over Paris. :p

El Alhambra. I don't usually believe in reincarnation, and I certainly don't now, but I've never felt more at home than I did than when I was there. It's where I would love to die and be buried, if I was very, very lucky.
Interesting for someone who lives in the North... ;)
Beautiful place. I miss traveling. I took it for granted too much. *blue

Thank you @Champagne for opening the cafe and for the invitation

Who's the most interesting person you've ever met? a colleague from work. He rode motorcycle and told me that he started learning riding it from others just by watching how they turn on bikes, how they ride, etc. He also said that he belonged to a group that used to race in bikes at night. I like bikes, though I can't ride one. He introduced me to a new world that I was already fascinated with before I met him

What celebrity would you most like to switch lives with? Keanu Reeves - I liked the matrix and he has a passion for motor cycles. He is also humble from what I have read

What is the craziest bet you've ever made? Can't remember this one

What is the most interesting place you've ever been to? One of the most interesting place that I have been to is Andaman Islands. There are beaches, scuba diving and lots of other activities to do. I had recommended this place to two friends and they also visited this place after that

If you could invite three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite? Stephen Hawking, Leonardo da Vinci, Lord Krishna
