Welcome to October!! This year has been so long and wild, lets all wish for the best for the last quarter. I love the 1st day of new months, I kind of make new months resolutions, each day is a new beginning but a new month feels more refreshing and a new start again :)

I'm going to share 2 beautiful songs with you, they always bring a tear to my eye, they are that beautiful...feel free to share your favourite songs.

Let's get nattering and share what we're up to today, how you feel, what you're doing, show gratitude for things that are going positively for you.

(Ahhhhem, I'd love to hear this first question answered by especially @Freya @Walker , it must be time for ye're question of the month *hysterical )

What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had?

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?

Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do?

What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is?

What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard?

What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had?

All of them I had in the past. I now just move on whether online or in real life. I phrase it as I used to be disgusted, now I am just amused.

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?

Being an asshole in public works for me, especially for those believing themselves special.

Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do?

No guests in my house, I avoid that problem.

What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is?

Getting revenge.

What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard?

My own. A woman where I once worked and had been there 20 years or so decided to quit, she merely thought she was insulting me by claiming that I was the reason she quit. I replied back that everybody in the company was thanking me. They actually were doing that and the funniest part was she knew that it was happening which is what made it the best. LOL

Happy October, Champagne*thumbsup Btw, hope you don't mind, I usually pronounce your name 'Sham-Pag-Nee'
What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had?
A long time ago, me and a former roommate both liked the same girl, the sister of a friend who'd come over with him occasionally. We always acted like jerks when she was around. The one ridiculous argument that comes to mind is the big one we had in the kitchen about ketchup, because neither one of us wanted to back down in front of her. (Testosterone: Lowering I.Qs Since 1 Million B.C.)
What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?
Hate
Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do?
The friend of a friend, who called him, was invited over, and then when he got to my house, instead of ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door, started yelling our names outside.
What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is?
Drinking
What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard?
"Douchebag says what?" No, not really. Can't think of anything.

Tysm for tagging me @Champagne & nice pix & q's, I only have an answer for 1 of the 5 main ones but also have answers for the how are you q's as always so I'll just answer those ones & also share some pix I found :)

Share what you're up to today
Not much, went shopping earlier today (not for anything fun or exciting really, just for some groceries lol) & my friend is gonna be coming over in a bit. We're gonna have dinner & watch more of a show we've been watching on Netflix so should be fun :)

how you feel
Kinda tired but pretty good overall. Also kinda worried about some physical pain I had today but as long as I eat a LOT better then hopefully it won't get any worse.

what you're doing
Not much right now, just on here & on the coloring site I go on almost every day.

show gratitude for things that are going positively for you.
Lots of things (aside from this site of course!) - Star Wars, Mark Hamill, my mom, my sis, my cat, my friend, all the things I have, that it's fall, for nature, art/nice creations in general & yummy food :)

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?
Not being social lol.

What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had? Idk what it is, but I'll go with one of the earlier arguements I had, although it wasn't really an argument.. I was playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater for Nintendo 64 with my neighbor when I was a little kid, and he got very mad at me for beating him at the game so much and he left.

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable? A lot of bad things. =(

Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do? This lady that used to text me several times a day, less than a year ago. They would come in, grab a bunch of my beers and some of my snacks, and then walk out without watching anything with me or hanging out with me at all.

What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is? This is something I would never do, but making fun of a member of a community. It really hurts the member and often causes them to stop coming to that community. I'm talking about an old place I used to go to.

What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard? Like puke up a buffalo's ass!!!

And many other AVGN Season 1 lines. Such as.. (Warning: Many cuss words.. Rated T or Mature!! I really do warn ya. Don't watch this with kids in the room, it's too inappropriate due to the heavy usage of bad language.)

What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had?
Basically anything on social media nowadays. I try not to argue too much, I just sit back and watch others argue about nothing and make fools of themselves.

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?
Being an asshole or rude for no real reason.

Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do?
My great uncle, he just always came by uninvited and ate most of the food. lol

What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is?
Letting a friend choose a tattoo for you.

What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard?
I'm not sure, I've heard lots of good ones in my lifetime.

I am working today, 10 hours, then I get home and set out in the garage drinking and vaping with my friend for an hour or so, eat dinner and go to bed. That is a normal day for me. I found out yesterday I have 3 weeks of vacation I have to use between now and Feb 20,2021 or I lose it. Bonus.

What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had?

My dad complained to my sister-in-law because she took the left lane on through. He claimed the left lane ended and the right lane went through. I argued with him over an hour on this, I knew the right lane ended. It was clear on the signs. I offered to take him out and show him the signs and he turned it down. I guess I won that argument. "Douchebag of the month" trophy goes out to me.

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?

LGBTQ

Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do?

I live with 3 other roommates. A while back two of them were meth heads. (They have since been evicted). One of them invited a homeless couple to move into our house and sleep in the living room. He gave them a key to the house. They stole our television and some of my lanterns.

What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is?

Getting drunk off your ass.

What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard?

One time when I was married I was kind of moving to the music and my wife said "If you knew how stupid you look when you do that you wouldn't do it." She also explained to me how bad my singing was. For ten years I do not sing and I do not dance. For instance at a birthday party when they sing "Happy Birthday" I lip sync.

Good morning or afternoon. Thank you for tagging me and opening cafe @Champagne

Glad it's a new month too. Screenshot_20201001-062629_Chrome.jpg

1. My ex husband kept throwing my cats outside and they were inside cats. It was so terrible at the time, eventually cops were called and I felt so stupid telling them that he wouldn't stop throwing my cats outside when they asked, "mamm, what seems to be the problem?" We were only 23. Jeeess

2. I see interracial couples and gay couples and I'm glad my children can grow up in a more accepting world. And also that people can be who they are without fear.

3. Friend stayed from abusive man, pets left pe smell and stains. She was pm phone with guy the day after she was with me.

4.party all night, but good memories looking back

5 not sure

Thanks for opening and for the tag @Champagne...

As for today's plans---work...but tomorrow is Friday--yeah!

What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had?
I so rarely argue that noting comes to mind...which probably isn't a good sign as sure I have initiated them ... so perhaps a case of selective memory...lol

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?
Lack of basic human kindness and civility towards others...

Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do?
I've been lucky in this regard...but guess my husband's brother's wife's father who proceeded to make toast on one side of the kitchen on the counter (didn't want to dirty a dish) and then carry in a spoon the honey from the other side of the kitchen...dripping it all along the way...so then had a massive ant explosion for the rest of their stay (we live in southern California where ants are notorious)

What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is?
Staying up late to watch a B-rated movie which I can't remember of course and then having to get up for work...

What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard?
I can never remember them...which is why I never have one...lol...

Thanks for the tag @Champagne :)

share what we're up to today, how you feel, what you're doing,
I'm not doing so well at the moment, things are pretty awful at home.

Today I'm taking my dog to the vet again. His allergies are getting worse and worse, his hair is coming out and he's scratching himself until he bleeds. I'm hoping the vet has another trick up his sleeve as the medications, shampoos and creams are doing nothing.

What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had?
I had an argument with my mother recently over Prince Harry and Megan. I said it didn't make any difference to me if they chose to live in the US or not and she went mad. She said he was a traitor and actually slapped me *hysterical

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?
In the UK at least I'd say racism

Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do?
My best friend. I absolutely adore her but she is totally hideous. She criticizes everything I do, even down to the shape hairbrush I use.

What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is?
Wearing high heels

What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard?
My husband got stopped for speeding one night on the way home from picking me up after a night out with some of my friends. We'd been to see The Chippendales (a male strip show). When asked by the police why he was in such a hurry my husband replied "My wife's just been to see The Chippendales and I want to get her home before the novelty wears off." The policeman laughed, let him off with a warning and asked if we wanted a police escort home *hysterical

happy october 1 everybody! i’m awake and ready for the new month and some other things too. i’m very hopeful that this will be a good month. its the month that granny smith apples become ripe and to me, those are the best apples!

might i say “yum” (to say the least!)))))

well i said i’d wake up this morning and i did @Champagne and thanks of course for the tag! i remember many times in my kids’ childhoods that we went apple picking and as a kid myself we did not go apple picking but did go freshly made donut picking and apple cider getting at a famous roadside stand/cider mill. if i have fond memories, these are they! then we’d go home and my father would let some of the cider ferment for several days. it was really fresh cider that had not been pasteurized so the fermentation process was natural! the picking would be fun to do again but i wish there was a quiet out of the way orchard since the popular ones are nearly big businesses and make the event more of a circus than a getaway. fond memories just the same! 😍🥰😊.

Now, there are some Qs, right? I’ll give’m a try:
What’s the most ridiculous argument you’ve had?
The coffee argument! First i need to establish the need for proper grammar and on this site the difference in the word i’ll be mentioning is likely well known and understood but the argument was centered on this particular word so its important to be aware of usage and tense. The word is ground vs grounded vs grind. Grind is what you do with coffee before brewing it, if you have whole bean coffee. Ground coffee obviously has already been through the grinder (we grind coffee in order to have ground coffee). ground is the past tense of grind in this case. But ground is what we stand on outside and also the state we’d like to see a person in who at a particular moment might be in a state of heightened emotion and not necessarily seeing things in the best light. In that case the person needs to be grounded. in this case, grounded is the past tense of ground. So i walked into a Starbucks two or three years ago and picked out a pound bag of whole bean coffee. I took it to the cashier and he asked me if i’d like it grounded. OMFG i replied (actually only in my head - i’m actually a bit timid). Was this bag of coffee suffering from anxiety? “Nope, whole bean please” i responded! Thing is that this confusion of ground and grounded is rampant lately and it may be Starbuck’s fault for all i know but I being an ET who clings to proper grammar as best i can (and as best i know) was deeply troubled by the confusion so i posted about it telling this story on facebook. A friendly acquaintance whom i’ve known from 45 years ago in college picked up on my post. uh oh... Her reply was that i should not be buying that coffee because it is overpriced. I tried to say that i was only talking about the grammar issue and her reply was that not only is it overpriced but also not really that good. Do you see where this was going? I did, but couldn’t help myself. I had fallen into the social media trap and replied that i liked the coffee and the price not that bad and had been really only talking about the grammar in that post. She stuck to her position and i foolishly spoke of how people don’t pay attention to grammar. At that she unfriended me and i’ve never heard from her again.

What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable?

Blatantly wrong grammar (but don’t say i said that). i’ve seen in above posts that more significant things both good and bad are becoming acceptable also, and i agree!

Who’s the worst guest you’ve had in your house and what did they do?

This is a tragic story: The worst guest was a young woman living in my father’s house at a time that i was living there too not long after my mother had died. My father was inappropriately in love with this young woman. She was living there at his invitation. But she took advantage of him and stole things and accepted inappropriate gestures from him that made things difficult for him, me and my siblings. She was in love with someone else and that had been made very clear but she never stopped using my father and my father never stopped making a fool of himself (to say the least). This story does not have a happy ending.

What always sounds like a good idea at the time but rarely is?

i am having trouble with this question. i’m thinking its connected to love...

What’s the best comeback you’ve ever heard?
My own experience! Saving my new job when my corrupt boss who had been stealing from the company fired me on the phone in order to maintain his stealing. This was at a movie theatre where i was the just hired assistant manager, and the situation was getting to be a near riot since the theatre was charging more than advertised for the matinee tickets in order to make his theft more profitable. So the only thing i could do was announce that i had been fired at the cashier window and that the cashiers should make their best judgement decisions since i could no longer make the decision to sell tickets at the advertised price. Top management had been wanting to have evidence and swooped down rather quickly afterwards and that guy was out, i got my job back and the cashiers sold tickets at the right lower price. happy ending.
