I've been listening to the last song he ever recorded. Hurt. It was a couple of months after his wifes death. A couple of months after that, he died himself....

Thats, extremely sad. Its like he clinged on to life just long enough to leave that one piece of himself on this earth... Do you think he knew that his time was over and he had time to accomplish just one more thing?

I remember that morning, waking up and turning on the news. They said Johnny Cash had died. I almost cried. Then they told the story of the song, and then played it, i really cried then. The last act of one of the greatest men alive was one of the saddest things on this earth... How did he know it was close to his time?

just the song itself is extremely moving but then if you watch the video and know about Johnny Cash and his wife June, it seems to make it a hundred times worse.

although it is depressesing to think about, in a way it seems really perfect and beautiful as well.
