    Hello Foxxstar,
Welcome to the forum!! While I am thinking about it, If your mom or you commit suicide the insurance agencys won't pay because of the circumstances.
I think in your subconcious you really want to find an apartment so you can put some distance between you. Maybe that will be an eye opener for her!! Do you have any other family alive? If you do maybe you can stay with them while you are looking for an apartment.
Who knows being on your own might just be the edge you need to graduate from school!!If your mom is addicted then she needs to join a support group!! I was addicted when I was up north. I didn't go to casinos, we would have high stakes poker at my house almost every night. We would get a keg and throw it in the sink with a bunch of ice to keep it cold.
I hope your mom gets some help!!I moved back here and got away from that kind of life!!Good Luck and Take Care!!:chopper:!!

I wasn't sure about the insurance policies, but logic is panic's prey, isn't it?

Now that I've calmed down, I would love to move out... but my biggest fear is that my mom crashes and burns and makes things worse for herself. It's not that I don't believe in her resilience, she's a powerful woman sometimes, but... She's already told me once that me being there was really what kept her going. I can't imagine suddenly up and leaving, deserting her, you know?

A friend's offered me a room, and it's very tempting, but I'm too afraid to accept it.

As for her getting help, well... She's made countless promises to attend meetings, but never follows through. But she does want to move again to get away from the temptations here, so we'll see. Hopefully after I graduate, thing's will be just a bit better.

Thank-you for your reply, though. Your avatar made me smile, ahaha.
