Last Time, Really a sonnet in iambic pentameter

Free falling head first deep into a hole
Living a life of low to no control.
Every time I would pause, to take a breath,
Could feel myself slowly approaching death.
Breathing in and out without real purpose
Trying to escape a life that’s perfect
The moment you start will change your self worth,
Find yourself regretting your day of birth.
If and when you decide to call it quits,
When you stop freaking out and throwing fits
When you can look at yourself without hate
When you decide to control your own fate
When you remember what you’ve been and cringe
Have power to resist one final binge.

My respect goes to you! Iambic penameter drives me up the wall... I'm just not made for writing tightly structured poetry, haha. Thanks for sharing this. =)
