    She carries herself in obscurity
A performance artist among her lies
Endowed within her own fantasy life
Her inner truth tucked away in a vault

Although the sand is thrown in others eyes
Her wet salted tears clings to bitter dust
Lies she speaks are not of verbal words
But of her outward chosen demeanor

Narrated tales of self repressed emotion
Further fills her core with a bludgeoned fear
Silent screams of terror compel her mind
To seek out truth through physical harm

Crimson droplets of life seep to freedom
Escaping the bonds of her furtive twinge
For a nanosecond peace becomes her
Then reinstated by layers of scars

Through pain she is crying out. Hmph. Very deep.

The pain is the only truth she feels and know it to be genuine. In a sense it here way of feeling real, when the expectations of the world become too much for her to pretend to be normal. It's her release, her way of letting herself be real, even if only when by herself.
