  1. Wolf spirit
    Brave hunter
    but hunted, and haunted
    as well
    Loyal, true, and fierce ~
    Yet gentle
inspite of legion tears, and torment
    Surely your spirit was sent
    to help, while wild ~
    Untamed, and never meant
    to be conquered
Yet there’s a high price to pay
    for seeking and following
    your own inimitable way;
to be all of who you are
    when at night,
you find the stars, to guide,
while we remain and fear the dark

I don't know how I missed this one...  I guess I've just been sort of "out of the loup"... ooh, that was bad...

I really like this one a lot. Reminds me of my visit to Alaska ten years ago. Went with my brother to a roadside "hybrid wolf zoo" type of thing. It was awful:sad: The poor creatures were chained to stupid doghouses, on short chains, and couldn't associate freely with each other, and had dug dens below/beside the damn doghouses. They were exhibiting neurotic behaviors and I told the attendant. She shrugged it off, saying, "oh they just do that". I said, "of course they do that cause they're confined so unnaturally, you nitwit!!" We had to leave immediately, it was too pathetic.

I love your poem very much.

  4. Thanks Least...

It was written for Cyesis, who posts such lovely wolf avatars - and for any of us part wild, yet forced to succumb to the chains you mentioned, I know why you had to leave that place - and what a blind person was 'in charge'... Damn....!!
