    A letter sent. A story.

    Or something like that.

    she sent a letter
    composed simplistically:
    ‘i cannot write another thing...
    and so i thieve...’
    attached it to a book
    of someone else’s words

    in between ornate
    leather cover
    embossed with lotus flowers

    rice paper sheaths
    of poetry
    in japanese

    her postscript inscription:
    ‘my thoughts make only
    as much sense as these’

    He somewhat slovenly
    stumbled, obeying
    the clatter of that
    morning’s mail

    on scratchy bristled mat
    the package sat flashing
    that name, the one
    only she pinned upon him

    spun it in the lave
    of his fingers
    briefly as he turned
    things over
    before filing it away
    as always

    in the damp cupboard
    with the others
    the scent of light mildew
    emanating from the pages

    the collection eventually
    would have to be carefully
    bubble-wrapped with
    eyes averted, naturally

    and on the large envelope,
that tomorrow or the next day,
    would hold it, sitting alone,
he would have to write somehow:

    ‘at this address, unknown’

    Dear Moments;

Powerful indeed!!!:eek:hmy: And beautifully read aloud. (I'm really into the lost art of elocution! ) If you (and all the other poets here) only knew - perhaps you do - how much you speak to that unspeakable part of me. And speak gently, empathetically, compassionately. I love you all so very much!!

    love love love,

    Thanks ladies.

Least - I had no idea of any such effect. I am very pleased and humbled that you include me in a group that can provide that for you.

    Love and letters,
