sorry if there's already a thread like this one.

just started taking lexapro (5 mg, dose will be raised later)

are there any side effects that i should know about or look out for? my parents refuse to tell me...and so does the doctor. hell, he forgot to write the damn prescription when he gave me a sample.

5mg is the minimum, your doctor will prolly raise you to 10mg soon, prepare to gain weight. other than that i have not experienced any nast side effects but every body reacts different. try google "side effects lexapro"

It helped me for like 7 years. Went up and down on it.

I found it harder to go on the drug than to come off of it.

It was kind of stimulating when i started it and my anxiety would get worse before getting better. It also is pretty well known for being one of those drugs that causes numbness and apathy.

I'm on 30 mg of it. I don't really notice any benefits or side effects from it though.

The one thing I did notice, is that when I first started on it I had really vivid dreams. After several months I went off of it, and then recently started up again and the dreams are back. They're quite pleasant :)
