hello everyone
not sure if i put it into the right section, but for me it is cause im depressed.
i wonder how many people there are that feel the same way.
I think love means everything and to find someone who you will really love and who will love you back the same means everything. you can have money and stuff but nothing will make you feel the same way as being with that someone special, even if you are poor.
i see many people want to end their life just cause they never found that love or think they never will or lost their love.
i grew up in a family that never showed love and now when i met someone i fell in love with, i realised that that person is my real family, not the people that are family by blood.
i wonder how many people would do anything for love? even if its difficult but do anything to have the love and be with the one you love?

P.S. im depressed cause my love lives far away and we keep struggling for years to be together and im ready to do anything to live together, even if it will be somewhere we dont like first and even if we have to be poor.. i wonder how many people would do the same.. im tired of losing more days apart, we dont have forever
thank you

Love is nice and grand and all that, and to me is worth lots of trouble to achieve and maintain.
but I don't think it's everything.

Love is everything? A horrible thought. Love has caused as much, if not more, devastation and ruin in this world as hatred. Love is something man cannot define - an action perceived by some as an action of love can to others be the action of pure insanity and cruelty. When people are in love, they lose all their rationality, their common sense, and dark things such as jealousy, envy and lust get the hold of them.

I might mention that I'm a quite indifferent person. Love, as in love based on lust, has not been a very frequent theme of my life, and thus I might not be the one with the greatest understanding of it, but observing it from afar, noticing what it does to people, is enough for me to settle facts: love is misery. And love dies, as all other things in this world.

Love is a fog that burns away at the first day light of reality.

It doesn't mean that while it lasts it wasn't beautiful, no matter why you or any loved.

Love is nothing. It's a bunch of BS. I think I love someone or something then it just finds a way to hurt me. It's easer to have never loved at all then to have loved but been hurt.

Love, by itself, should be a precious thing. But it often is emotionally draining a lot of the time. But, two people that truly love each other, well that's something to admire.

I think most humans crave for love. Without the love of someone else, it is as if you don't exist. There is no one to reflect your existence.
When you're a little child love is everything. You learn that you're dependent on other people (mother, father) without whom you would not see your desires satisfied. One of these desires is to be recognized by those other people. You learn to connect the feeling of happiness (the satisfaction of desire) with the recognition of the other person who satisfies your desires. You learn to see yourself as a separate person with a name, the ego is born. And an ego needs another ego to confirm that there is in fact an ego. (if there were no others in whom we could recognise a contrast with ourselves, we would not be able to define ourselves. Ultimately we know we cannot be defined, so we depend on others to define us as we define others)
Without this recognition there is unhappiness.
i think ultimately love is the desire to merge with someone different because being alone is not enough.

I don't think love is "everything" but do think it's very important - whether it be the love of a partner or family member or friend or animal. I read this somewhere: "Love doesn't make the world go round, it's what makes the ride worthwhile."

I disagree...
love is everything.
it kills you, it keeps you alive...it makes you happy and it makes you stay in bed the whole day crying your eyes out...
there are different types of love..
I love ash because I see her as my mei mei (younger sister)
I love steven because he's my soul mate...my world.
people die for love, yes.
I almost killed a boy with love...:( It's a dangerous thing..be careful...
once you know what it is, you cannot live without it.

In my entire life I have only had two people tell me they love me, and only one meant it. I wouldn't trade the feeling when he first said it for anything in the world, when he died it almost broke me.
I would do anythign for someone to truly love me.

for me, love and being loved is the most precious thing a person can have. i thought i'd never feel love. i did, and what do i do, chase her away so i don't hurt. all i did was hurt myself.

Ya it pretty much is everything, I find it fucking amusing that certain ppl have told me that its not, and then when they find it, or think they've found it, theres a 360 degree change virtually overnight, and all of a sudden you dont hear from them anymore lol. Not saying it makes "absolutely everything" all roses, but it greatly greatly helps your mental state. Those that say it doesnt make a big differance are peddling bullshit, and lieing to you to make you feel better, but ya, you already knew that right?

Love out of obsession is not healthy; I think that love from compassion for another is the best form. True compassion can bring happiness.
