I feel so silly. I want to be in love.

Some background on me. I've been depressed for a long time before the relationship that only fairly recently lost my virginity and after few more sexually encounters the relationship quickly crumbled I tired to make it work:sad:. People say that sex feels so good but that wasn't my experience.

I think it is strange that being a guy I want to be in love. I should just want to have sex like most guys. Women want to be in love. Why I'm I so weird? I'm not a 'good guy' I've proven I'm not:sad:. I want to be but...

I all honesty i don't think thats strange at all. Theres the sterotype that women want love and men want sex when thats absolutely not true. I think you just see that all the sex can be meanless but being in love is what truely matters. Its not strange at all hun. You shouldn't want the sex like most guys, sex is not all that matters in a relationship.

I dont think thats unusual, you shouldnt feel like its odd? When your in love with someone the sex is that much better anyway...I hope you can find love, it sounds like your a nice guy.

I feel same. I just want a girl I could put my arms around, who I could share all my fears and dreams and thoughts with. Because of the stereotypes I feel myself strange, men aren't supposed to be sensitive, we should be strong. But I'm not, I'm a dreaming hippie.

I'm not dreaming of porn actresses, like I propably should. I just want a girl I could sit on a river with and listen the summer evening winds.

Your not weird. Both men and women what someone to love, some one to hold. I'm male and I know I want love.

It's just stupid social stereotypes that say men just want sex, and women just want love; ignore the stereotypes.

Exactly - IAmMe has it spot on here: ignore the stereotypes - they're totally and utterly wrong.

Everyone's an individual, and every person is special, and everyone needs love as much as the next person; just society portrays it that men are more typically ''sex-mad'' whereas women are traditionally more ''love-based'' - not so.

    Be yourself :)

    what is love?

I would like a partner to keep me company so Im not bored or lonely, some one that I can rely on, some one who can give me pleasure and make life easier and I do all the same for her.

It seems tho that it is something very difficult to obtain.
  9. Well, love is grand, until she tells you at the last moment that she no longer can be in a relationship, then she never speaks with you again. Then, you're left to be confused and hurt, not knowing when your next love will be in your life, until all of the sudden, there she is. Your new love. Everything is grand once again, yet, it's different. You feel like you aren't all there, like a bit of you is missing, that it was taken away from you by the last girlfriend. You have faith in her being there for you, loving you, yet, you are plagued by worry, which makes you wonder, when will it end? Will I be hurt yet again?

Back to Nosmanic's post or else this thread will go on to someone else and i want the focus to be on his problem because this is his thread

"I think it is strange that being a guy I want to be in love. I should just want to have sex like most guys. Women want to be in love. Why I'm I so weird? I'm not a 'good guy' I've proven I'm not. I want to be but...?

I don't think it's strange that you are a guy and want love..i actually find it admirable b/c most guys do just want sex and I think it's sad because love is a beautiful thing. You aren't weird for wanting love, for wanting to be loved nad cared for, it's human nature and most guys don't pick that feeling up until they get through with having sex constantly so **kudos to you for wanting love.

I think Kanani79 means we all have our stories on love, be them good or bad, it'll be easy to focus on someone elses instead of Nosmanic and his thoughts/feelings on the matter.

    Tequila and Salt.....

You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

    1. There are at least two people in this world
    that you would die for.

    2. At least 15 people in this world love you in
    some way.

    3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is
because they want to be just like you.

    4. A smile from you can bring happiness to
anyone, even if they don't like you.

    5. Every night, someone thinks about you before
    they go to sleep.

    6. You mean the world to someone.

    7. You are special and unique.

    8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves

    9. When you make the biggest mistake ever,
    something good comes from it.

    10. When you think
the world has turned its back
    on you take another look.

    11. Always remember the compliments you received.
    Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember....when life hands you
lemons, ask for tequila and salt and call me over

    remember it's all true...

Well sod anyone who makes fun of you , they're not worth paying any attention to.

How old are you? If you don't mind my asking.

Nosmanic, I think it's great to want love, rather than meaningless sexual encounters. Good for you .
