Here's a poem I wrote today. I hope you like it.

If I could choose to change my past
I wouldn’t change any details, down to the last
Rather, I’d choose to have never been born
Never to experience this life forlorn

A few joyful moments I freely surrender
If unto darkness my mind might render
No pain or torment can I befall
When all that’s left is nothing at all

But I do exist, alive and well
Alive and tortured in my personal hell
No one can know my internal strife
Or the cuts I make with the spiteful knife

There must be a reason why I’m alive
It’s certainly not for joy to thrive
It’s something far worse, I suspect
    Something like torture sounds correct

But what would I prove with my death
To be found all bloody and devoid of breath
They would say, “It was too much to bear”
I’m only kidding, nobody would care

So, the gray sun rises high above
A new day looms, devoid of love
And I’ll keep on trying throughout the light
Trying to hang on, with all my might
