Okay, I haven't come on here in a while, I guess I never actually felt like it. I've had nearly 3 months of work and I can't wait to get back! (never thought I'd say that) I'm going back in 3 weeks, and it's all thanks to my 3 hairless baby rats I met 4 weeks ago. I guess all I wanted was something to love and love me back :') I just want to say thankyou to everyone for chatting to me and it's thanks to this site that I ventured out of my box and got the help I needed. I'm recently waiting for a refferal for a mental health specialist and for the moment I'm taking fluoxetine, i'm abit edgy about even going to the refferal but I guess if it makes me feel even more better what can be the harm!! xx Thanks everyone!! :yay:

Just my two cents. Pets are a great to way to get reconnected to life and get out of ourselves. Rats are an excellent choice as they require minimal care and yet are very interactive. I think its important to keep in mind that animals are also a responsibility which can be overwhelming so it is important to reach the right balance and find the one that fits best everyone lifestyle and situation. I've done dog rescue for many years and a lot of people underestimate the cost and effort involved in having a canine companion and the poor critter end up in a shelter, in an foster home or euthanized. So, while I cant recommend enough having a companion animal, I think people should ease into it by incremental steps: from small animals like mice or rats, to cats, to dogs.

I'm going back to work this weekend, i'm nervous but at the same time glad i'll be getting into a routine again, i will only be doing a few hours and then they'll add more hours through time. I never went to see a specialist i'm going to see how i get on with work and hopefully no more help will be needed! Good luck goes to all of you and wish you all a speedy recovery from what we call life! xxxx
