This is Darkness my old friend
Who’s come to visit me again
The day’s gone and night returns
Night, which is full of downturns

    Darkness grows and takes over
And brings out that hidden writer
The writer who writes only sadness
And is stuck in a sense of helplessness

Darkness puts its arms around me
Comforting, but slowly starting to smother
I know that it’ll slowly consume
That it is my impending doom

I really should try my best to stop it
But I have to admit it’s easy to submit
To the growing dark, the growing pain
Which is really putting me under strain

So when darkness comes up to my door
I go to it and yet once more
Come up and greet my old friend
Who has come to see me yet again

  3. Wouldn't we all love to,
gets our hands around the necks of "They" -
    who say
"Out of sight, out of mind"
while "absence makes the heart grow fonder",
    as "familiarity breeds contempt"!
    Sorry that you're not exempt
    from this all-too-familiar guest

(having a visitation myself...)(is bleedin' Mercury in retrograde AGAIN?!)

    (beautiful expressions, you...)
