You stood like a soldier, a hero, a gent
A mask of lies hurt and torment
You looked into me, like we were alone
I heard your words but not out loud
    You spoke with your eyes
    I see it now
The trickle of blood that fell down my cheek
Was full of your screaming and pain
And as I watched your gruesome end
That crimson tear danced down my cheek again
Rot gallant soldier, in the grave you now lie
And maybe one day I will learn why you cried.

    You

Your eye's, they have a beautiful sheen
They tell me what you're thinking and where you've been
Yet they are full of darkness, frozen in a dream
A pool full of acid, a blackened, burning scream
You are a delicate rose, petals wilting in pain
Trapped in a glass prison of blood and tearstains
Slowly turns brittle, snaps and falls to ground
Lying naked on the floor you never make a sound
Ignored, unloved, you're no longer a rose
But a corpse in the ground covered by snow

    Beauty Is In The Details

Today I saw when the world will die
A crucifying mess of purple and gold
    Deranged, delusional, a beautiful shame
    You weren't there
    I was alone
I am made of paper, you of broken glass
Cutting myself on scraps of you
I tatter at your touch, floating to the floor
A flower on a bed of sharpened nails
A mass grave of tiny angels fallen from heaven
Rot beautiful creature, all lifeless and serene.

    Natures Way

The sun shines through the drops of rain
That remain on the branches of time
The shadows they cast on his upturned face
Resemble the tears for his crime
The fragments of light, not soft or forgiving
Are broken by the trees of unkind
The daggers of light they throw down on him
    Resemble his shattering mind
The tree that stands above him
Has grown from a seed of despair
The shadow of death it casts down on him
    Resembles his lifelong nightmare
The darkness that consumes and hates him
    Reveals its horrors and pains
The hurt and the shame it thrusts upon him
    Resembles his scars and bloodstains

You are a good poet, imho, and I thank you for sharing your works with us. I love reading other's descriptions of their feelings, often to read just the way I feel about things.:eek:hmy: Another way of seeing my own situations. Thank you for sharing!

    Death

    It comes to me
    All blues, greys and blacks
A thorn in my side, a nail through my back
    Lying naked under the trees
A paratrooper hangs from the branches of time
    Kneeling at heavens gate
    Praying forgiveness for that crime
He, I, fades away to white
Away from others and everyones sight

    Colours

The colours of the rainbow are dying a luminous end
The colours of the earth are transparant and fading down
The colours of the sky are grey and bloodied red
The colours of my face are black and blue with death
The colours of emotion are spread across my arm
The colours of my past white, neon, blindingly alarmed
In this world the colors flee at night while I am frozen
A sleepless malice towards, me, the person chosen
And everyday when I awake the world looks dimmer still

    Time

If time could stop when I felt most free
I’d fly away like a bird, but for broken wings
Instead I lie under the overhanging trees
Haunted by visions of death in a dream
We walk over death, of graves in the gound
Of people we might once have known
They lie in their box, stripped down to purity
And sleep in the sands of our time

Your words are so very sad, yet evocative and full of compassion. I'm partial to nature imagery and I like the recurring theme of the tree in your work. Appreciated walking into your world. You sure have a way with your emotions as well as empathy...

    Mum

You sit like a queen, a princess and a lady
Emotions are etched on your face
You stare in that whirpool of liquor
For answers to questions you chase
Your hands shake like petals in breeze
The reason is clear to see
That magical potion you rely on
Is what your enemy should be
And I sit there and watch you
With imaginary flowers in your hair
As you sit and you wither
To half the woman you once were
    Your skin has grown pallid
Your eyes have lost their sheen
    You're no longer a princess
    Or a beauty queen
But just a sad and lonely girl
    Slowly fading away
    And as you grow colourless
I cry where you once lay

    A Chance of Snow

You're like a faded christmas tree that once stood tall and proud
A brave soldier in a seemingly happy world
Your branches laden with glitter and gold
    Your needles have fallen
    Your tinsel has dulled
    Your baubles have shattered
    And fallen down
    Lost and forgotten
    No longer so proud
On your way to faded beauty heaven
    That promise of snow
To make your world all picture perfect
It never appeared, it never came
Instead you fell and became an addict

    Re: Dad

    The Bottle

You are fragile, your soul is bare
When you're the most alone its always there
Your haunted heart, it often cries
A crimson river of sadness and sighs
It lets you sink into a slow, sad, sorrow
Of bottomless anxiety and pain filled tommorrows
You're a victim, it's robbed you of your soul
And like a fool .. you gave it your control
Somehow now you want to be free
To grow up into who you were supposed to be
A seed to a flower, An acorn to a tree
A bed full of roses, it isn't meant to be
You love it yet you hate it's tempting, tragic face
Life's so long in its vicious embrace
It lets you avoid the things so hard
Leaves your life and your body so terribly scarred
It's trap will suck you in... will steal your soul
Once you grip it's cold bare hand... It will have control.

    Re: Dad

There's nothing but darkness, all velvet and black
A deafening quiet, the silence attacks
Once colorful dreams now swing from the naked trees
Faded and lifeless never to be
My heart screams a horrifying sound
Like a hundred crippled angels lying crumpled on the ground
Begging for a dart to come and put them down
Crawl, beautiful creature, drag your shattered legs behind
You once were so graceful, perfect and devine
Now the world has dealt it's card, unloving and unkind
These words I used to scream from the rooftops unsung
Just falling like ash from the edge of my tongue
No one can hear me, these invisible sounds
They just hit the ground and again, rebound
    Rebound
    Resound
    Rebound

    Touch

    Halfway to the bottom
    Instantly forgotton
I don't know which way to go
    Magic drifting through the air
    Touching everybody there
Feels like lightning running through my veins
The ghosts are crawling on our skins
Lights up the dark with their evil grins
Destroying my days and haunting my nights
And magic settles on the floor
And there she lives for evermore
Uncut my soul, make me free.

    Angels Decay

A thousand tiny angels are floating through the night
    Searching for their owners
To bring that glowing, guiding light
These tiny angels, they float until you die
And when you choose that path
Their tiny hearts shatter and tiny tears they will cry
    Falling broken to the earth
Their tiny wings have turned to stone
Lying there, cold, like a tragic stillbirth
    And there they do lay
On a blackened piece of ground
Until they fade away to nothing, rot and decay
