My psychiatrist just broke my confidentiality.

    He told my mom about my cutting and my suicidal thoughts and feelings, and now she is going to lock me in my room and hover over me all the time. I can't do anything about my psychiatrist and I don't know what to do. I can't live like this.

    They will break confidentiality if they think you're a danger to yourself.
    Maybe explain to your mom and psychiatrist that it's a way of coping and that having your mom hover around you won't help. Try and work something out with them for better coping mechanisms for whatever you're dealing with so that you can not cut, and your mom won't smother you.

    Now your mom knows that a good thing really a good start to be open with here and to talk about what paths you can take to get well and stay well. A therapist first starts someone you can feel safe to talk to. The pressure is off now because everything is out in the open.
