    I am tired of all this wasted time;
    this state only serves to drag me down.
    There is a place where I'll be fine;
    I'll find that place, that town.

    It really has to be a simple task;
    just got to find my own piece of Summerland.
    It's the haven that I know has to exist.
    The white-picket place where despair ends.

    The skies tinted blue all year;
    where there's at least one smile waiting.
    This place is too much to bear.
    I don't think anyone here even knows my name.
    Please just say you'll come with me;
    our fates intertwined, it will be okay.
    Where we go, you will be able to just be;
    no one here gives a fuck about us anyway.
    The sign is going to come; it has to.
    At the drop of a hat, we'll be on our way.
    On that day, the roads will only be ours.
    We should just pack our bags; be ready.

    It really has to be a simple task;
    just got to find my own piece of Summerland.
    It's the haven that I know has to exist.
    The white-picket place where despair ends.

    The stars will shine; we'll leave at night.
    The moon can guide us as a friend;
    He can share our journey 'til we find our life.
    When we get there, the sun will rise.
    The sun will shine down on our home;
    we'll stop and we will live again.
    All of our worries will finally be gone,
    so please don't ask what then?

    Life will begin to spring up everywhere;
    there will be no end in sight.
    So will you go with me, away from here?
    Just say the word and we'll escape.

    It really has to be a simple task;
    just got to find my own piece of Summerland.
    It's the haven that I know has to exist.
    The white-picket place where despair ends.
