nerve pain in legs

Im currently in the process of getting diagnosed as to why I have patched on my legs of constantly numb skin, however in the mean time I had a question,

Any tips for dealing with that kind of pain that I can use that are actually halfway legitimate? Ibrupofren sort of helps, but it gets really bad if I stand for long periods to the point where it becomes a functioning issue.

Didn't know if anybody has experienced this and had any pointers?

Hi, some people use either lidocain patches or creams for nerve pain. For me it is hit and miss. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Gabapentin and Lyrica are two prescription meds that help some folks with neuropathy.

Hey there @Shinzon1

It might be best to try to determine the cause of your discomfort in order to find a treatment that'll hopefully prove to be effective.

The causes of nerve pain and numbness in the legs are varied ranging from structural causing nerve compression, vascular where blood flow is compromised, systemic where it could be endocrinologically based, or even a vitamin deficiency.

With there being so many differing causes, as it currently stands it can be a bit tricky trying to find something that'll help until you get a firm diagnosis. Maybe ask your doctor what you could be raking whilst you wait for a diagnosis to be made?

I've just been diagnosed with neuropathy in my feet. Seeing the doctor this week. I've been using Salonpas - which is a topical gel that contains methyl salicylate. The pain is so unpredictable that its hard to know when to use it though.

Some of the treatment methods mentioned above might be helpful.

Not drinking alcohol or smoking, getting exercise, and proper diet can help with neuropathic pain. Yoga, tai chi, and qi gong may be particularly helpful forms of exercise.

Acupuncture might help treat it too

funny you say that....I usually feel better after a really long walk even if the starts of it are pretty terrible.
