Take me far away from here,
To the land that I love.
Stop me feeling so much hurt,
Take me to the land I love.
    No more it burns,
    I'm set free from hell.
Left with memories and scars so deep,
Never will they know my sorrows.

They shackled me to the wall,
    And tossed away the keys.
    Broken, beaten and scarred,
    I lay alone in darkness.
    Eyes looking skyward,
    To the only light around.
Hoping someday I'd be set free,
For a day that never comes.

Here I am now writing my sorrows,
On a piece of paper I don't know even exists.
Is this a dream, is this just some sick joke?
    Did they set me free,
Only to enslave me once again?
Where do I go from here,
Do I hide from the sorrows behind me,
And never again tread such a deadly path?

Who am I? I left behind all that I knew,
Lost in woodland I don't recognise.
    I tread on broken pathways,
Hoping to find myself free of the dense forest.
Heading towards the light I know so well,
Treading over broken bones and corpses burnt to ash.
    Were they just like me,
Hoping for freedom, only to be burnt to ashes.

They are but ash blown free in winds so strong,
The elements attack me pushing me back.
But ever strong I push onward,
Coming out into an open area,
I lay myself across the welcoming grass and close my eyes.
As my eyes open again I'm staring into that same light,
And I pull forward only to find,
I'm shackled to that desolate wall yet again.
    Never free.

    Hope you guys like it.
