I'm sure most people get bored with Welcome threads - afterall so many post everyday with the same old "Hi I'm new" stuff etc. But yeah, oh well, I'm new and got forwarded to this forum by a good friend. I sometimes self harm when I'm hysterical - I'm not suicidal yet and don't want to get to that point if possible but just want advise on how to stop before it's too late and to generally talk to people who are going through the same sort of thing.

Well my Mum's the only one, or who's said anything anyway, who's seen the cuts on my arms. I haven't talked to her about it though. Nobody else knows about it.

Welcome. <3~

I hope we can help you, and as Abacus21 said, it sometimes helps to talk to people close to you about it. Or even spill your emotions to ous, here. Perhaps we'll be of some help to you.

Welcome. If you check the self-harm section you should be able to find many tips. As for me I mainly stopped by keeping myself busy and distracting myself with my hobbies. Hobbies can give a healthy way to relax. I know you can do this. You can always PM me if you need to talk.

Acid Tears,
Hello hun and welcome to the forum. I am so glad that you found us and have joined us. If you ever need to talk feel free to pm me and I will get back to you as soon as I get the pm. Like Mia said above me here check out the self harm part of the forum and there could be some tips there to help you.
If your mom knows about you cutting then it may be a very good idea to talk to her about it. Sometimes talking about how you feel and things can help take some of it off of your shoulders so you dont feel like self harming a whole lot. Once again if you ever need to talk feel free to pm me. Take care and I love you. :cheekkiss  :cheekkiss  :cheekkiss  :cheekkiss

With Love,
Crystal  :cheekkiss

I know this is an old thread but I haven't been on this forum in a while. Thanks for all your good advice, but it's now been over 9 months since I cut myself so many things have changed. I went out of my depression phase around May or June time all on my own :) I didn't do councilling, I didn't do anything apart from I found out that one of my friends from school was going through exactly the same thing as I was so we were both able to talk to eachother. My mum kept trying to make me go to a shrink but it just proves that shrinks aren't always the only answer - if you find someone who's going through the same stuff as you, it helps SO much just talking to them and sharing experiances.

I'll try and be a more active member now I've sorted myself out xx
