twowolves80 Darkness Incarnate; don't even bother

    Swimming through the night,
through the water black and light,
stars that glitter gold and white
my face still wet with tears.

    Looking up I see
your beauty looking down at me
take my heart and let it be
    free from all my fears.

    You're so far away,
here it's night and there it's day,
but in my dreams we can play
    safe within my heart.

    When I wake alone
in my chest a heart of stone
    lips betray a single groan
    but I play my part.

    If I can't have you
and there's nothing I can do
still I'll stay both firm and true
    until I breathe my last.

    And still I will wait,
for you to walk through that gate
promise that you won't be late
    we'll forget the past.

Inspired by Don McLean's Vincent (Starry Starry Night) and parts of my own life. Mahal kita ng sobra aking magandang asawa Juliet...

Yeah, I was going to ask if it was based on personal experience, because it sounds very passionate. A lot of my poems are, but not all. I am glad you have a muse, and hope they keep inspiring you to write more :)

She does, though she's so far away. Hopefully some day, I'll be able to get her here...

twowolves88 I too have penned the odd sonnet, this one was inspired by watching some hangliders awhile back. Aptly named "ode to a hang glider"
    Ode tae a Hang Glider
Up in the air he soared with grace
A noble look upon his face
All of a sudden the wind got sparse
And he clumsily crashed upon his arse
