Can you see a different GP? Have they done any tests to try and figure out what it is?

Its frustrating that doctor's sometimes cannot find a reason for pain nor a way to treat it. A friend of mine is forced to live through daily pain because there is a strange "gray matter" in his brain that the doctor's don't understand, no medication has any effect on him whatsoever.

However, I've found that doctor's are often lacking in specific knowledge concerning certain issues, because they're required to study such a vast variety of information.

Could you see a specialist for this problem as opposed to a general practitioner? Try to search for some in your area.

I also suggest doing a lot of research by yourself with the internet and/or books. Doctor's don't know everything and I've often been left to find things out on my own because they just didn't know what the problem was, or what to do, or their prescribed solution wasn't working. There's a lot of information out there and you might find something that your doctor's didn't consider.

I agree with Elvinchild.. You should have your GP refer you to a specialist..It could be just about anything..

Your right it could be anything that is why my mind is going nuts Is it cancer isit my appendix but not showing. Is it herniated disk in my back what is it A
All i know is i have to double my pain meds sometime triple it to get the pain to tolerated level I am missing my work so no money coming in only work parttime so don't get sick leave. I went to work with this pain and could barely walk out of there. I will phone GP again tommorrow or go to a walk in clinic This has got to stop really i can't deal with both pains physical and emotional i can't do this I hope my GP will do something maybe give me stronger meds so i can cope.

a friend of mine had the symptoms you're desrcibing. They thought it was back problems and sent her to a chiropractor. It turned out she had gall stones the size of oranges, and no one caught it until it was almost too late. Have them chck for gallstones.

i had my gallbladder out last year as they thought that was causing my pain
now they think maybe kidney stones but none shown on ct scan. i still think it feel like appendix a cold icy feeling radiating pain to back well if they don't find cause soon the pain will kill me or the amt meds im taking keep pain to minimal either way i get relief.
