Anyone ever notice that? Like when you apply for a job and they never tell you whether you got it or not, or when you call a friend and leave a message and never get called back, or if you ask somebody a question and they don't even hear you, or if a cashier doesn't even make eye contact as she goes through the transaction... I guess if you get any response it shows that someone thought it was worth their time to acknowledge your existence, or it proves that you even exist at all and you're not some kind of ghost.

(By the way I'm not talking about message posts or anything like that, just everyday life stuff.)

Yes I have noticed that, glad it's not just me

I think you summed it up perfectly there ^^.

I totally agree with you. Is as if we are invisible to people. You summed it up pretty well.

Just happened to me with a cashier at a grocery store. Never made eye contact once. My gf thought she was shy - I thought she was a bitch. It drives me crazy - I also hate it when I give them my debit card and they dump it on the counter. For some people this is the only human contact they get and it gives them a skewed perception of themselves. All this adds to the dehumanization of our society.

Some people you meet in life are just plain ignorant others are maybe just too preoccupied with their own stuff. I try not to judge anyone but I really don't like ignorance.S.

Quite true as far as I see it.

I tried joining a band 2 years ago and I never got a reply back despite going to college with the drummer who always made himself out as the sort of person who doesn't give a shit what people think of him yet he wasn't even brave enough to tell me I didn't get in. Him and the rest of the band just ignored me completely. However, the band never amounted to anything (I applied for bass), they never got a bass player, never played any gigs etc.

I'd rather take shit from someone than have them treat me as non-existant.

And yes, I do feel as though sometimes I am simply invisible as people just don't seem to see me when I'm around.

Oh god, I feel this way all the time!

I mean, I know I am lucky, because I have a job, a husband, family, friends. But so often I feel like I am not here, unless someone needs something from me! And if I contact some of my family or friends, quite often they don't see the need to respond.

Even on message boards. It's like, I kill every conversation I start, in life and on the internet. No one responds. Maybe I come across too strong? I dunno. It depresses me oftentimes though.

Thanks for posting it feels good to get that out.
