I might talk to your psychiatrist, about your meds making you feel worse. Maybe you need to try and medicine. :) and if the therapy isn't working maybe you aren't approaching it right or just haven't found the right therapist for you yet.

Thanks for sharing, keep it up.....lookiing forward to hearing from you again. Take Care andf if you ever need to talk, don't hesiat to PM me.

Hi there

I have read and heard you :)

I'm sorry that you've been struggling with depression for so long, and that it doesn't seem to be shifting. Are you getting your psychotherapist through the NHS or privately? Is the psychotherapy helping? Do you get on with him/her? If not, I wonder if you could consider trying a different therapist?

Similar with the medication.. I wonder whether the medication that you are on is helping.. and if not, maybe you could see your GP and see about getting it changed? Either way, it may be a good idea just to go to your GP and explain how you're feeling.. how would you feel about doing that?

I'm really sorry for asking so many questions.. I know that sharing is difficult, and i'm not trying to push you in to telling us more than you want/can.. I am genuinely interested and concerned, that's all.

Please take care of yourself and post if and when you feel ready

Hi
welcome to SF!
Medication and the brain are so complex. Hang in there. Open up here or to pdoc. Don't let it get you too down, I have the same junk happening various times.
Stay sane!

people can change, and it is hard to change by yoursef, while it is possible, i suggest definately talking to your doctor about the meds and even going to more than one psychologist

Good to see you back :)

I can understand the problems with getting a psychotherapist on the NHS.. i struggled to get 3 sessions with a Counsellor through the NHS! But have had several private counsellors/psychotherapists.

Does your current psychotherapist know how you're feeling, i.e. that you're not getting anywhere.. or that you're destined to "be like this"? I think it would be a good idea to discuss this.. not only would it help him/her understand how you're feeling about life, but about psychotherapy itself, but it will also give you both the opportunity to discuss what would help you move forward... it's worth a go?
