I'm going through the same thing. I can't stop thinking back to a better time or recalling all the bad things that have happened to me. The only thing I can say is that you can't live in the past. The past is dead. Maybe not buried, but dead. All you can do is try and learn from it and move on. Read up on how to live in the present and stop yourself from drifting into the past. I recommend reading the book 'A New Earth' By Eckhart Tolle, he speaks of dealing with the past very well and it's easy to understand. Short of reading a book, look up some how-to's on the subject, and try and put what they tell you into place. Just remember, the past can't hurt you, only the feelings you attach to it can.

i notice that i become nostalgic especially when things are rough in my current life... i consider it a reminder that if things were good, then they will be good again. i'm just stuck in a rut but its time will pass...
