So why have we become such an obese nation? Is it laziness/ lack of exercise, overeating, poor choice of foods (fast food etc.) or a combination of all of them? I have read that obesity is a worldwide problem now with America being the worst and the U.K. coming in second.

I think for one thing we intake way too many carbohydrates/sugar. Our bodies utilize either carbs or fat for energy depending on what is available. If you eat a carb/sugar heavy diet then you'll pack on the pounds unless you're a fairly active person.

I'm one of the obese people in America and I'm ashamed of it. I've just recently started a diet (Ketogenic) and have lost 15lbs so far but I have a long way to go before I'm considered not overweight. I for one was eating a lot of pasta, bread and drinking soda. I've also been living a sedentary life style for over a year because of my disorders. A recipe for disaster.
