Obsolete Threads

    On another forum if you try to reply to an obsolete/old thread this flashes up:

    "Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
    Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic."


    In the past on SF I have recieved PM's from admin asking why I am reviving old threads so I reckon it would be a good idea for anyone trying to reply to a thread posted over 120 days ago they are reminded this way. They can still reply if they have a new angle on the subject otherwise they can start a new thread dealing with the issue of the original thread

    It's a good idea. I think we could make the time frame a bit longer, even a year or something. But I like the concept. I'm not sure it's something we can do; I don't think it's built into our software, so it would almost have to be some sort of addon. Any idea what software the other forum runs?
